## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

08-08-2013

AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A BIRDSTRIKE ON THE RIGHT OUTBOARD WINDSHIELD. A TURKEY BUZZARD CAME HALFWAY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AND DIED SHORTLY AFTER. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS NOT INJURED AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT SAFELY WITHOUT FURTHER DAMAGE AND NO INJURIES.

THE AIRCRAFT IS BEING EVALUATED FOR HIDDEN DAMAGE AS THE REPAIRS COMMENCE.

8-9-2013

INSPECTED AIRCRAFT FOR BIRDSTRIKE DAMAGE. THE WINDSHIELD WAS DESTROYED, FURTHER DAMAGE WAS VERY MINIMAL INCLUDING THE WING ROOT WRAP AROUND TRIM, THE FRESH AIR VENT TUBE, AND THE INTERIOR TRIM. THE BIRD APPEARED TO BE INTACT- THERE WAS NO BLOOD OR INTERNAL PARTS EVIDENT IN THE AIRCRAFT.

THE DAMAGED AIRCRAFT PARTS WILL BE REPLACED AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
