## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT MANEUVERED FOR LANDING ON RUNWAY 29 AT THE SCHAUMBURG REGIONAL AIRPORT (06C) IN SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS. DURING ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT, LEFT THE RUNWAY, CONTINUED INTO THE GRASS, AND HIT A TAXI SIGN. THE MAIN GEAR ASSEMBLY WAS TORN FROM THE FUSELAGE. THE FORWARD PORTION OF THE FUSELAGE AND THE NOSE GEAR INCURRED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE RIGHT BRAKE LOCKED UP, BUT THE ON SITE FAA INSPECTOR FOUND NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THAT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13LA482](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13LA482), Aug 9, 2013: Glos Wallis Richard JR LONG-EZ (N721EZ), Schaumburg, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing, which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
