As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DECIDED TO ABORT AND APPLIED FULL POWER TO REMAIN AIRBORNE. ONCE AIRBORNE, PILOT NOTICED PILOT AND CO-PILOT DOORS WERE AJAR. PILOT ELECTED TO RETURN TO HOME BASE OF HAMILTON AIRPORT (H30). UPON LANDING AT H30, PILOT NOTICED AIRCRAFT TAXIING SLIGHTLY CROOKED AND LH LANDING GEAR WAS BENT OUTWARD. FURTHER INSPECTION FOUND SUBSTANTIAL STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO SEVERAL TUBULAR AIRFRAME MEMBERS, AND UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE TO MAIN LANDING GEAR. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13CA369](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13CA369), Aug 11, 2013: Maule M-5-210C (N6617R), Verona, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s delay in applying power after a bounced landing, resulting in collision with terrain during a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
