## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE HOUTON FSDO RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT AIRCRAFT N749TT, A CESSNA CITATION 560, S/N 560-0248 HAD A BIRD STRIKE AT DAVID WAYNE HOOKS AIRPORT. INSPECTOR ARRIVED AT THE OPERATOR?S HANGAR AND MET WITH THE PIC AND FIRST OFFICER.

PILOT STATEMENT AND EVIDENCE COLLABORATED THE AIRCRAFT HAD TAXIED OUT TO RUNWAY 17R AND BEGAN IT'S TAKEOFF ROLL. AT APPROXIMATELY 85 KTS IAS A LARGE BLACK BIRD PASSED BY THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE FLIGHT CREW NOTED AT THE SAME TIME A DEGRADATION IN THE NO. 2 ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND ABORTED THE TAKEOFF ROLL. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED BACK TO THE RAMP AND WAS SECURED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

IN THE NO 2 ENGINE THERE WAS RED RESIDUE INSIDE OF THE INLET, AND IN THE EXHAUST OF THE ENGINE. THREE OF THE FIRST ROW FAN (C1) BLADES SHOWED BEND DAMAGE & THERE WAS A LARGE FEATHER QUILL PROTRUDING FROM A VENT ON THE DORSAL FORWARD OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER. THERE WAS ALSO BIRD RESIDUE ON THE RIGHT HAND HORIZONTAL STABILIZER LEADING EDGE AND THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE.

A BIRD STRIKE WAS EVIDENT.

THIS AIRCRAFT IS ON A PART 135 CERTIFICATE (T4BA) BUT WAS BEING OPERATED PART 91 FOR THE OWNER. AIRCRAFT RECORDS WERE UP TO DATE WITH CURRENT INSPECTIONS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
