## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N411RU LANDED RWY 17R AND HENDERSON EXECUTIVE AIRPORT, NV (KHND). THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE PAVED SURFACE OF THE RUNWAY TO THE RIGHT AFTER THE TAILWHEEL TOUCHED DOWN. REPORTED WINDS AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT INDICATED WINDS FROM THE SOUTWEST (240) AT 10 KNOTS. AN AIRPORT SIGN WAS OBSERVED KNOCKED OVER IN THE VICINITY OF THE AREA WHERE THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED AND CAME TO REST.

THE PIC ADVISED THAT THE LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL AND THE TOUCHDOWN WAS SOFT. HOWEVER AS SOON AS THE TAILWHEEL TOUCHED DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT AS A RESULT OF WIND, AND THE PIC STATED THAT HE APPLIED RUDDER TO COMPENSATE. HOWEVER, THE RUDDER PRESSURE WAS INSUFFICIENT AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE PAVED SURFACE OF THE RUNWAY.

THE PIC HAS NO HISTORY OF PRIOR ACCIDENT/INCIDENT OR ENFORCEMENT ACTION. THE PIC IS AN ACTIVE PILOT FOR A PART 121 AIR CARRIER AND COMPLETES AIR CARRIER RECURRENT TRAINING. THE PIC OWNS THE EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT INVOLVED IN THE INCIDENT.

THE PIC HAS BEEN COUNSELED AND HAS COMPLETED A FAAST TEAM COURSE ON POSITIVE AIRCRAFT CONTROL. DISCUSSION WITH THE PIC ALSO REVEALED THAT FATIGUE MAY ALSO BE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
