## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND THE BEECH C-50 TWIN ENGINE ON HIS 1400' PRIVATE AIRSTRIP FOR THE FIRST TIME. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING FLOW AT AN APPROACH SPEED OF 7 KNOTS SLOWER THAN PUBLSHED VMC. WHILE ON SHORT FINAL, THE AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A HIGHT SINK RATE AND STRUCK TWO VERTICALE RAILROAD TIE FENCE POSTS PRIOR TO THE INTENDED POINT OF TOUCHDOWN, CAUSING SUNSTANSIAL DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13CA395](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13CA395), Sep 1, 2013: Beech C-50 (N212G), Homedale, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delayed action to arrest a loss of altitude on short final, which resulted in a loss of aircraft control and collision with a fence post.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
