## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2013 AT APPROXIMATELY 0930 LOCAL A THRUSH AIRCRAFT MODEL S2R-T34, SERIAL NUMBER T34-402, REGISTRATION NUMBER N3000H WAS MAKING A FINAL APPROACH TO A LOCAL AIRFIELD IN PORTLAND, ARKANSAS WHEN THE COMMERICAL PILOT WAS UNABLE TO ADVANCE THE THROTTLE TO ADD POWER. THE PILOT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A COTTON FIELD APPROXIMATELY 1200 FEET SOUTH OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE MAIN LANDING GEAR, A FEW SMALL DENTS IN BOTH LEADING EDGES, THE TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY BROKE OFF THE AIRCRAFT, AND THE PROP TIPS WHERE CURLED DUE TO PROP STRIKE. THE PILOT WAS THE ONLY PERSON ONBOARD AND RECEIVED NO INJURIES. THE 14 CFR PART 137 AGRICULTURAL APPLICATION FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED UNDER VISUAL METEROLOGICAL CONDITIONS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
