STUDENT PILOT WAS ON SOLO FLIGHT FROM PIPESTONE, MN TO HIS PRIVATE AIRSTRIP NEAR EDGERTON, MN. PILOT STATED THAT HE LANDED LONG AND DECIDED TO GO AROUND AFTER TOUCH DOWN. AFTER APPLYING POWER, AIRCRAFT DRIFTED TO THE RIGHT AND THE NOSE GEAR GOT CAUGHT IN THE SOYBEANS TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY. AICRAFT CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP AFTER CATCHING THE SOYBEANS AND FLIPPED OVER ONTO IT'S BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13CA526](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13CA526), Sep 4, 2013: Piper PA-28-180 (N7393W), Edgerton, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delay in aborting the landing which resulted in the airplane contacting the terrain off the departure end of the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
