## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS FOUND FACING NORTH, ALONG A FIELD ROAD THAT RUNS NORTH AND SOUTH. THE ROAD WAS HARD PACKED AND DRY. THE TIRE AND PROPELLER MARKS SHOWED THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING TO THE SOUTH AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

THE PIC STATED THAT DURING LANDING, AT TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRCRAFT BRAKES APPEARED TO BE SET, OR PARTIALLY SET, WHICH CAUSED AN UNCONTROLLED DECELERATION OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT PROPELLER STRUCK THE SURFACE OF THE ROAD, AND THE AIRPLANE ROLLED LONGITUDNALLY ONTO ITS BACK.

AIRCRAFT DAMAGE CONSISTED OF BENT PROPELLER BLADES, BENT ENGINE MOUNT, BROKEN WING STRUTS ON BOTH SIDES, LEADING EDGE DAMAGE TO THE WINGS AS WELL AS WRINGLED WING SKINS. ALSO FOUND WAS THE RUDDER PARIALLY TORN LOOSE FROM THE LOWER ATTACH POINT. THE BRAKES WERE NOT FOUND FROZEN DURING THE INITIAL ACCIDENT INSPECTION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13LA551](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13LA551), Sep 4, 2013: Grumman Acft ENG Cor-Schweizer G 164B (N8251K), Clemville, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The uncommanded inflight application of parking brake due to a loose valve, which resulted in a noseover during landing.

## Other reports on N8251K (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
