## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

IN AN ON SCENE INTERVIEW, THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS RETURNING TO KTUS FROM YUMA, AZ. HE WAS INITIALLY CLEARED FOR 11 L, BUT REQUESTED 21 BECAUSE THE WINDS WERE OUT OF 230 AT APPROXIMATELY 11 KNOTS. THE PILOT DID NOT RECALL WHETHER HE ENTERED A DOWN WIND OR BASE FOR 21.

AFTER TOUCHING DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED. THE PILOT SAID HE GLANCED DOWN AT THE AIRSPEED INDICATOR. WHEN HE LOOKED UP, THE AIRCRAFT WAS ALIGNED ABOUT 30 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE. AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS HEADED FOR THE RIGHT EDGE OF THE RUNWAY, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO USE THE RUDDER AND NOSE WHEEL STEERING TO REGAIN AIRCRAFT CONTROL. THE PILOT THEN DECIDED THAT HE COULD NOT REGAIN CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT ON THE GROUND AND INITIATED A GO-AROUND.

DURING THE GO-AROUND, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A RUNWAY LIGHT.

THE PILOT DID NOT RETRACT THE LANDING GEAR DURING THE GO AROUND. THE PILOT THEN LANDED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
