## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON A PART 135 FLIGHT TO RETRIEVE PASSENGERS, THE AIRMAN LANDED ON THE BEACH, KODIAK ISLAND, AK:

AFTER THE AIRMAN SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, HE REALIZED THE PASSENGERS WERE ABOUT 100 YARDS AWAY, SO THE AIRMAN ELECTED TO REPOSITION THE AIRCRAFT CLOSER TO THE PASSENGERS. AT THAT TIME, THE WIND WAS ON-SHORE ABOUT 15-20KTS. INSTEAD OF TAXIING DOWNSLOPE TOWARD THE WATER, THE AIRMAN CHOSE TO TURN UPSLOPE AWAY FROM BOTH THE WATER AND WIND. AT THIS POINT THE WIND LIFTED THE TAIL WHICH RESULTED IN THE PROP STRIKING THE GROUND.

THE AIRMAN CALLED HIS PRINCIPAL OPERATIONS INSPECTOR FOR GUIDANCE AND EVENTUALLY RECEIVED A FERRY PERMIT TO RETURN THE AIRCRAFT TO THE HOME BASE, KODIAK, AK.

NO PASSENGERS WERE ABOARD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE AIRMAN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
