## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON LANDING ON RUNWAY 13R AT VICTORIA REGIONAL AIRPORT, TEXAS, THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A WIND GUST WHICH RAISED THE LEFT WING AND CAUSED THE RIGHT WING TIP TO CONTACT THE GROUND. THE SOLO STUDENT PILOT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT. FRICTION CAUSED BY A SIDE-LOAD ON THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR TIRE AND RIGHT WING TIP CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO FLIP OVER, RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13CA544](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13CA544), Sep 11, 2013: Cessna 170A (N170TP), Victoria, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's inadequate compensation for the crosswind, which resulted in a loss of directional control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
