## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2013, THE BLANIK GLIDER HAD AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING A STUDENT PILOT LANDING ON RUNWAY 36. DURING THE LANDING ROLL OUT, THE GLIDER?S RIGHT WING STRUCK A GAZEBO LOCATED OFF THE EAST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. SEMINOLE E LAKE GLIDERPORT DID NOT NOTIFY THE NTSB NOR WAS THIS OFFICE NOTIFIED. THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE OF THE GLIDER AT THAT TIME WAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. INFORMATION OBTAINED VIA THE STUDENT PILOT IS THAT, HE CONFUSED THE TRIM HANDLE WITH THE BRAKE HANDLE. THIS OFFICE REQUIRED THE GLIDERPORT TO NOTIFY THE ORLANDO FSDO OF THE DATE AND TIME THE GLIDER DISASSEMBLY WILL OCCUR SO AS FAA PERSONNEL CAN BE PRESENT TO DETERMINE THE DAMAGE. A LATER VISIT DEEMED THE GLIDER UNREPAIRABLE DUE TO COSTS THEREFORE, CONSIDERED DESTROYED/SCRAPED FOR PARTS.

THE STUDENT PILOT WITH LITTLE INFORMATION KNOWN RETURNED TO JAPAN WITHOUT FINISHING HIS QUALIFICATIONS. THE INFORMATION PROVIDED VIA THE GLIDERPORT IS AS FOLLOWS; THE STUDENT POSSESSES A STUDENT CERT/MEDICAL ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND HE STATED THAT HE WAS PULLING ON THE TRIM HANDLE INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE HANDLE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION IS KNOWN TO DATE AND ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION CANNOT BE INITIATED. THE ACCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH NO FURTHER ACTION.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
