## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FLYING EASTWARD TOWARD LAKE MICHIGAN AT APPROXIMATELY 1700 AGL CRUISE ALTITUDE, THE PILOT STATED A BANG OCCURRED AND THEN SEVERE VIBRATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH CONTROL STICK "WOBBLE". THE DECISION TO SLOW THE AIRCRAFT DOWN, RESULTED IN AN INCREASE IN VIBRATION AND CONTROL STICK SHAKING. AN IMMEDIATE SUITABLE LANDING SITE WAS SELECTED ON A MAIN ROAD THOROUGHFARE. THE LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL AND THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
