## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED LONG ON RUNWAY, TOUCHING DOWN OVER HALF WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE END OF THE RUNWAY, TRAVELING OVER 550 FEET FURTHER BEFORE GOING THROUGH THE RUNWAY LOCALIZER ARRAY.

SUBSEQUENT TO THE ACCIDENT AIRMAN WAS TESTED BY LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT DRUG RECOGINITION EXPERT (DRE), AND ADMITTED TAKING TWO MEDICATIONS (LEXAPRO & SEROQUEL) THE NIGHT BEFORE. SUBSEQUENT TO THE FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS (FST'S) AS ADMINISTERED BY THE DRE, THE AIRMAN WAS ARRESTED FOR OPERATION OF AN AIRCRAFT WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE (OF DRUGS).

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13LA419](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13LA419), Sep 23, 2013: Piper PA60 602P (N35FD), Sandpoint, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to fly the approach at the appropriate landing speed and attain the correct touchdown point, which resulted in a runway overrun.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
