## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED TWICE BEFORE THE PILOT EXECUTED A GO-AROUND PAST THE MIDFIELD POINT. THERE WAS A LEFT QUARTERING TAILWIND OF LESS THAN 8 KNOTS. THE AIRCRAFT THEN ENTERED A LEFT TURN AT LOW ALTITUDE. IT CONTINUED TO DESCEND, STRUCK A TREE AND LIGHT POLE BEFORE IMPACTING TERRAIN. POST-IMPACT FIRE DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT EXCEPT FOR RIGHT WING TIP, ENGINE, AND ENGINE COWLING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13FA558](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13FA558), Sep 25, 2013: Cirrus Design SR20 (N406DC), Bolingbrook, IL, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control of the airplane during a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
