## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DEPARTING RUNWAY 11, AT ABOUT 200 FEET AGL THE PILOT REDUCED POWER TO CLIMB POWER. AT THIS POINT THE ENGINE STARTED TO RUN ROUGH, COUGH AND PRODUCE ONLY PARTIAL POWER WITH SURGES. PILOT IMMEDIATELY SELECTED GEAR DOWN (20+ SECOND EXTENSION TIME) AND SLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT TO LAND ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY VERSUS PROCEED BEYOND THE END INTO THE TREES. AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN PRIOR TO COMPLETE EXTENSION OF THE LANDING GEAR, YIELDING DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT AND MORE SO THE LEFT FLOAT NEAR MAIN WHEELS (THEY EXTEND LAST). AIRCRAFT STOPPED AT VERY END OF RUNWAY SAFETY AREA. AIRCRAFT WAS ABLE TO BE MOVED WITH DOLLY PLACED UNDER FLOAT NEAR LEFT MAIN WHEELS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
