## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 10/19/2013 AT 1045 MDT, N282RD, A EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT LONG EZ AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHEN IT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY DURING TAKEOFF. THE TWO OCCUPANTS WERE NOT INJURED. THE WEATHER AT THE TIME WAS VMC.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14LA011](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14LA011), Oct 19, 2013: Davenport Long EZ (N282RD), Boulder, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The sudden loss of tire pressure during takeoff roll, which resulted in a loss of directional control.

## Other reports on N282RD (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19930808032129I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19930808032129I), Aug 8, 1993: Amtrru VARIEZELONG (N282RD), Vero Beach, FL, Minor damage. Pilot forgot to lower landing gear. Landed gear up.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
