## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING FLIGHT, PILOT NOTICED OIL PRESSURE ON #1 ENGINE WAS DROPPING. PILOT ELECTED TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT THE PSC AIRPORT. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THERE WAS A CUT IN THE OIL CAP O-RING WHICH ALLOWED LOSS OF 2-3 QUARTS OF ENGINE OIL. ENGINE DID NOT RUN OUT OF OIL. MAINTENANCE CONTACTED CESSNA WHO TOLD THEM TO SERVICE THE OIL, REPLACE THE O-RING, AND RUN THE ENGINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY FLUCTUATIONS IN OIL PRESSURE. SEEING NONE, THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
