## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING FULL POWER PRATICE FOR AIRRACING AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED SUDDEN SEVER VIBRATION AND LOSS OF PERFORMANCE. PILOT THROTTLED BACK TO IDLE AND THEN LANDED IN DESERT. AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER AFTER 300 FOOT OF BOUNCING ROLL-OUT. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER, LANDING GEAR AND LEFT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14LA046](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14LA046), Nov 2, 2013: Rovey Jason H RV-8 (N391V), Wickenburg, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The fatigue failure of a propeller pitch change pin due to excessive shot peening of the pin’s surface during the manufacturing process.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
