## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 27 AT WINSTED, MN AIRPORT (10D) THE AIRCRAFT OPERATOR REPORTED THAT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE BADLY. RPM WAS REDUCED AND THE OPERATOR MADE A LEFT HAND 180 DEGREE TURN AND ALIGNED AIRCRAFT WITH RUNWAY 09. HE ATTEMPTED TO SLIP THE AIRCRAFT TO LOSE ALTITUDE. HE THEN ATTEMPTED A RIGHT HAND 180 DEGREE TURN BECAUSE HE FELT HE WAS GOING TO GO OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY IF HE CONTINUED. AT ABOUT 15 FEET AGL, THE LEFT WING APPEARED TO STALL. THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE GROUND LEFT WING FIRST AND THEN CAME DOWN HARD ON THE NOSE WHEEL DAMAGING THE FORWARD SECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
