## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS RELOCATING THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INTENTION OF FLIGHT. THE PILOT TAXIED AROUND A HANGAR AND TURNED TO LEFT PLACING THE AIRCRAFT IN A LEFT QUARTERING DOWNWIND CONDITION. THE PILOT WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT'S TAIL FROM TURNING LEFT DUE TO IMPROPER WIND CORRECTION OF THE CONTROL FORCES. PILOT THEN APPLIED POWER IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE RUDDER MORE EFFECTIVE. THIS CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO APPROACH THE EAST SIDE OF THE HANGAR FASTER. THE PILOT THEN CUT POWER AND APPLIED BRAKE PRESSURE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP AFTER THE PROPELLER STRUCK A WATER PIPE OF THE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM. THE WOODEN PROPELLER SHATTERED AND THE WATER PIPE BROKE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
