## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N4358Z, EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT AIRCRAFT, DEPARTED RIO VISTA AIRPORT AT 1450 WITH ONE PILOT AND ONE PASSENGER ON A RECREATIONAL FLIGHT OVER THE DELTA WATER WAYS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY.

WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND ROLLED BACK TO IDLE WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THROTTLE CHANGES.

PIC DETERMINED THAT THEY COULD NOT MAINTAIN ALTITUDE AND MADE AN UNSCHEDULED EMERGENCY LANDING ON A REED COVERED ISLAND IN THE RIVER CHANNEL JUST NORTH OF BRADFORD ISLAND.

THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE AFTER A SHORT APPROACH OVER THE REEDS. INITIAL REPORT FROM THE PIC AND PASSENGER INDICATES THAT THERE WERE MINOR INJURIES AND MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
