## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT RETRACTED LANDING GEAR AFTER TAKEOFF AND REPORTED IT BEING NOTICEABLY QUIETER THAN USUAL. THE GEAR HANDLE "IN-TRANSIT" LIGHT WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. PILOT CYCLED THE GEAR THEN TRIED TO PUMP THEM DOWN MANUALLY. HE RECEIVED NO NOSE DOWNLOCK INDICATION. TOWER VERIFIED NOSE GEAR REMAINED DOWN AFTER RETRACTION. PILOT LANDED AND NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AFTER APPROX 100FT. AIRCRAFT SLID APPROX 600FT MORE BEFORE STOPPING. BOTH PROPS STRUCK THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED ON 12/10/2013 AND FOUND CHAIN FROM THE GEARBOX TO THE FORWARD BULKHEAD WAS BROKEN PREVENTING FURTHER MOVEMENT OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
