## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT AND DURING A REFUELING STOP HE LEFT THE PORT SIDE FUEL CAP OFF. AFTER TWO UNSUCCESSFUL LANDING ATTEMPS AT KLNC DUE TO CROSSWINDS HE CONTACTED REGIONAL APPROACH AND ASKED FOR VECTORS THE CONTROLLERS SUGGESTED MESQUITE KHQZ AS HE APPROACHED MESQUITE HE NOTICED HE HAD NO FUEL IN THE SIGHT GAUGE. A MINUTE LATER THE ENGINE QUIT AND HE SET THE AIRPLANE UP FOR AN APPROACH INTO THE WIND AND TOLD REGIONAL THAT HE HAD AN EMERGENCY JUST PRIOR TO TOUCH DOWN THE AIRPLANE IMPACT A WIRE FENCE AND SUSTAINED MINIMAL DAMAGE WHICH INCLUDED A SCRATCHED UP PROP AND SCRATCHES ON THE RIGHT SPAR AND LOWER LANDING GEAR (SEE PHOTOS).

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
