## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING DESCENT THE CREW FELT A SLIGHT VIBRATION AT 30,000 FT AND .73 MACH FOLLOWED BY A LOUD POP AND SLIGHT YAW OF THE AIRCRAFT. ATC WAS NOTIFIED AND THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO CHICAGO MIDWAY AIRPORT (MDW). DURING THE POST FLIGHT WALK AROUND OF THE AIRCRAFT THE CREW FOUND THAT BOTH THE UPPER AND LOWER COWLING ON THE RIGHT ENGINE WERE MISSING AND THAT THERE WAS A LARGE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT STABILIZER, ELEVATOR, AND TRIM TAB.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14LA075](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14LA075), Dec 2, 2013: Cessna 560 (N810QS), Walton, IN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The inflight separation of the upper and lower right engine cowlings for reasons that could not be determined based on available evidence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
