WHILE STUDENT PILOT WAS TAXIING AIRCRAFT TO RAMP FOLLOWING FLIGHT, FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ASSUMED THE FLIGHT CONTROLS AND MANEUVERED THE AIRCRAFT OFF OF THE PAVED RAMP AREA INTO THE GRASS IN ORDER TO TAXI FORWARD INTO A TIE DOWN SPOT LOCATED AT THE RAMP'S EDGE OF PAVEMENT. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR FAILED TO NOTICE CONCRETE LIGHT POLE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO TIE DOWN SPOT AND ALLOWED AIRCRAFT'S RIGHT WING TO STRIKE LIGHT POLE, CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO LEADING EDGE OF WING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
