## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, AFTER ONE TOUCH AND GO, THE ENGINE LOST APPROXIMATELY 100 RPM AND STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. AFTER TWO APPLICATIONS OF CARB HEAT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE PROPELLER DID NOT WINDMILL. UPON LANDING IN THE WATER, THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER AND SANK IN 20 FEET OF WATER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EXITED THE AIRPLANE WHILE UNDER WATER, SWAM TO THE SURFACE AND WAS PICKED UP BY A PASSING BOAT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
