## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS IN THE PATTERN TO LAND RUNWAY 14 AT GLADEWATER WHEN THE RPM BEGAN TO DECREASE. HE TURNED TOWARD THE AIRPORT, FOLLOWING HIS RESTART PROCEDURES, BUT AS IT BECAME APPARENT THAT HE WAS GOING TO END UP SHORT, HE ATTEMPTED TO REACH A SUITABLE OFF-AIRPORT AREA TO PUT THE AIRCRAFT INTO. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE TREES JUST SHORT OF THE CLEAR AREA HE WAS TRYING TO REACH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
