## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT EXECUTED A FORCED LANDING INTO BULL SHOALS LAKE AT FORSYTH, MO, AFTER TOTAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER DURING A FLIGHT FROM KUUV TO KPLK. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER SWAM TO SHORE AND THE AIRCRAFT SANK INTO ABOUT 30 FEET OF WATER. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED SUBMERGED FOR NEARLY ONE WEEK BEFORE RECOVERY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14LA112](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14LA112), Jan 4, 2014: Piper PA-22-108 (N4505Z), Forsyth, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper flight planning, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
