## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ENGINE STARTED MAKING LOUD NOISES WITH VIOLENT VIBRATIONS. THE ENGINE VIBRATIONS CONTINUED TO WORSTEN RESULTING IN THE ABILITY TO SUSTAIN ONLY ABOUT 20% POWER. THE PILOT BELIEVED HE WOULD NOT MAKE THE RUNWAY, THUS HE PULLED THE PARACHUTE AS RECOMMENDED IN THE AIRCRAFT FLIGHT MANUAL. UPON LANDING, HIGH WINDS CAUSED THE PARACHUTE TO DRAG AND TUMBLE THE AIRCRAFT TOTALING THE AIRCRAFT.
