## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND BORDER PATROL AIRCRAFT REPORTED THAT WHILE CONDUCTING TRAINING, THAT AFTER COMPLETING THE THIRD TAKEOFF AND LANDING, AT ABOUT 15 FEET AFTER TAKEOFF, THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. HE REPORTED THAT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE EXPLOSION, THERE WAS AN AUDIBLE OVER-SPEED WARNING AND A VERTICAL VIBRATION. SUBSEQUENTLY LANDED AND THE CREW ATTEMPTED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE CREW INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND FOUND A TURBINE WHEEL PROTRUDING FROM THE ENGINE CASE. THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND SENT TO TURBOMECA FOR TEARDOWN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
