## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT WAS PRACTICING FORWARD SLIP TO LAND, WITH INSTRUCTOR ON BOARD. AS THE AIRCRAFT ALIGNED OVER THE RUNWAY FOR LANDING, THE STUDENT NEGLECTED TO TRANSITION TO A NORMAL LANDING ATTITUDE, INSTEAD KEPT FORWARD SLIPPING. THE INSTRUCTOR REPEATEDLY REQUESTED THAT STUDENT RETURN TO A NORMAL LANDING ATTITUDE. AFTER SEVERAL VERBAL WARNINGS WITH NO CORRECTIVE ACTION FROM STUDENT, INSTRUCTOR TOOK CONTROLS, BUT STUDENT CONTINUED TO HOLD CONTROLS AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. INSTRUCTOR HAD TO FIGHT THE STUDENT OFF THE CONTROLS, WHO WAS STILL TRYING TO FORWARD SLIP THE AIRCRAFT. BY THIS TIME THE AIRCRAFT WAS HIGH AND SLOW, WITH NO FLAPS. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE RUNWAY WITH A NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE, STRIKING THE TAIL AND DAMAGING THE BOTTOM RUDDER COVER AND CAUSING SEVERAL WRINKLES THROUGHOUT THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE RUDDER FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP OF THE RUDDER.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
