## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 27, 2014, REPUBLIC AIRLINES FLIGHT 4309, RONALD REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT (DCA) - CHICAGO O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ORD), N406YX, WAS EVACUATED AFTER PARKING AT THE GATE. THE CAPTAIN INITIATED AN EVACUATION AFTER SEEING SMOKE AND INDICATIONS OF FIRE OUTSIDE THE FLIGHT DECK WINDOW. ALL EXITS WERE USED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. FLIGHT ATTENDANTS ESTIMATED EVACUATION TIME AT ONE MINUTE FIFTEEN SECONDS. CAUSE OF THE SMOKE AND FIRE WAS ATTRIBUTED TO GROUND PERSONNEL CONNECTING A GROUND POWER UNIT PLUG CONTAMINATED WITH ICE AND GLYCOL TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
