ON FEBRUARY 3, 2014, ABOUT 2300 CENTRAL STANDARD TIME, N61YP, A CESSNA 525, MULTI-ENGINE TURBOFAN AIRPLANE, WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED AFTER STRIKING AN OBSTRUCTION DURING APPROACH AT ELK CITY REGIONAL BUSINESS AIRPORT (ELK), ELK CITY, OKLAHOMA. THE PILOT AND 5 PASSENGERS WERE NOT INJURED. THE AIRPLANE WAS REGISTERED TO AND OPERATED BY YANKEE PAPA, LLC; RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14LA129](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14LA129), Feb 4, 2014: Cessna 525 (N61YP), Elk City, OK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s descent below the published minimum descent altitude for the instrument approach procedure, which resulted in impact with a utility pole.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
