## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT LANDED IN 2 FEET OF SNOW THAT WAS LAYERED TO THE SURFACE, ALTERNATING BETWEEN POWDER AND ICE. AFTER SITTING ON THE GROUND AT FLAT PITCH FOR ABOUT 3O SECONDS, THE FRONT PORTION OF THE RIGHT SKID FELL THROUGH THE ICE PLACING THE AIRCRAFT AT A PITCH/ROLL ANGLE THAT CAUSED IT TO ROLLOVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14LA113](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14LA113), Feb 5, 2014: Bell 206 (N3211N), Bountiful, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilots' inaccurate assessment of the snow depth on the landing zone, which resulted in a landing on snow deeper than that for which the helicopter was equipped and led to dynamic rollover.
