## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING PUSHBACK FROM THE PARKING SPACE IN RIO DE JANEIRO (GIG) IT APPEARS THAT THE GROUND PERSONNEL MAY HAVE NOT INFORM THE CAPTAIN TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE PRIOR TO DISCONNECTING THE TOW BAR FROM THE TUG AFTER THE PUSH HAD BEEN COMPLETED. WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE TOW BAR DISCONNECTED FROM THE TUG THE AIRCRAFT STARTING ROLLING FORWARD STRIKING THE TUG. AT THAT TIME THE CAPTAIN NOTICED THE AIRCRAFT VEER TO THE RIGHT FOLLOWED BY A LOUD NOISE. THE CAPTAIN APPLIED THE BREAKS AND SHUTDOWN ALL ENGINES TO INVESTIGATED WHAT HAPPENED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
