## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, ENGINE N1, N2 AND FUEL FLOW STARTED TO FLUCTUATE. ENGINE BECAME UNRSPONSIVE AND STUCK AND AT

90 % N1 WITH ITT AT 908 DEGREES. THE ENGINE FAILED DURING EMERGENCY DECENT AT 17,000 FEET. PILOT SECURED THE ENGINE AND LANDED RENO, NEVADA WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. A SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE N2 MONOPOLE CONNECTOR WAS NOT SAFETY WIRED AND HAD LOOSENED. THE CONNECTOR WAS TIGHTENED AND SAFETIED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
