## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT (N716MZ) DEPARTED THE LEWIS LOCKPORT AIRPORT (KLOT) ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT ON 2/19/2014. WHEN RETURNING TO (LOT), POWER WAS REDUCED AT 3000 FT TO START THE DESCENT, THE PILOT THEN DETECTED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT FOLLOWED BY THE SMELL OF OIL. HE THEN NOTICED THAT HIS OIL PRESSURE DROPPED TO ZERO FOLLOWED BY ENGINE FAILURE. HE THEN HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING OFF AIRPORT. THERE WAS NO FIRE OR INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
