## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N19VC (RV-9) DEPARTED IFR FROM MYAM (MARSH HARBOR, BAHAMAS) EN ROUTE TO SFB (SANFORD, FL). AT 1826Z, THE PILOT CANCELLED IFR WITH ORLANDO TRACON. THE TRACON KEPT HIM ON HIS BEACON CODE AND CONTINUED PROVIDING VFR SEQUENCING SERVICES INTO SFB. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROX. 16 MILES WEST OF SFB AT 1832Z, THE PILOT ADVISED THE TRACON CONTROLLER THAT HE WAS EXPERIENCING ENGINE PROBLEMS AND WAS GOING TO ATTEMPT TO LAND ON A ROAD HE HAD IN SIGHT. THE CONTROLLER ENLISTED THE HELP OF THE SEMINOLE COUNTY SHERIFF HELICOPTER WHO WENT TO LOCATION WHERE N19VC WAS LAST OBSERVED ON RADAR. THE HELICOPTER WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE AIRCRAFT INVERTED IN LAKE COUNTY NEAR LAKE PLYMOUTH & HAAS ROADS (LAT/LONG 28 47.398N / 81 31.041W) IN A CONSTRUCTION SITE. THERE WERE 2 PEOPLE ON BOARD. BOTH WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE ORANGE COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER WITH NON LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.
