LANDED ON A FROZEN LAKE, ON ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT TIRES BROKE THROUGH THE ICE IN APPROXIMATELY 1 FOOT OF WATER ON TO A SECOND LAYER OF ICE. AFTER COMING TO A STOP THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING NORMAL AT IDLE POWER. 100 FEET AHEAD WAS LAND, SO THE PILOT ADVANCED THE THROTTLE TO TAXI OVER TO LAND. THE ENGINE CAME UP TO POWER BUT AFTER 3-4 SECONDS THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AGAIN. THE THROTTLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO IDLE AND AFTER 10 SECONDS THE THROTTLE WAS ADVANCED AGAIN TO FULL POWER, THE ENGINE RAN GOOD FOR 3-4 SECONDS AND THEN ROUGH AGAIN. THIS WAS CONTINUED UNTIL LAND WAS MADE. AIRCRAFT WAS SECURED ON LAND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
