## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 1, 2014, AT APPROXIMATELY 13:30 CDT, THE PILOT APPROACHED COLEMAN AIRFIELD JUST OUTSIDE ADRIAN, TEXAS (OLDHAM COUNTY). HE SET UP FOR A WHEEL LANDING. AFTER THE TOUCHDOWN AND INITIAL ROLL-OUT THE AIRPLANE BEGAN TO SWERVE TO THE RIGHT. HE CORRECTED AND THEN IT WENT TO THE LEFT. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO CORRECT IT BEFORE THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A GROUND LOOP. THERE WAS ONE SOUL ON BOARD WITH NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT LOWER LONGERON WAS DAMAGED JUST FORWARD OF THE TAIL WHEEL SPRING ATTACHMENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14CA157](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14CA157), Mar 1, 2014: Aeronca 7AC (N85372), Adrian, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll which resulted in the airplane ground looping.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
