## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT BEGAN HIS DESCENT FOR MYF UNDER IFR CONDITIONS. UNDER THE STRESS OF IFR FLIGHT, THE PILOT BECAME DISTRACTED, SETTING UP THE STAGE FOR MISTAKES. THE PILOT HAS 220 HOURS IN MAKE AND MODEL. BUT, ACCORDING TO HIS STATEMENT, HE CONFUSED THE GEAR WARNING HORN WITH THE STALL WARNING HORN. THE PILOT CONTINUE HIS DESCENT THINKING THAT THE LANDING GEAR WAS EXTENDED. THE TOWER CALLED OUT FOR A GO AROUND BUT IT WAS TO LATE. OBVIOUSLY HE HAD A GEAR UP SITUATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
