## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT. WAS INITIALLY AT 18,000 FT. AND CLEARED TO DESCEND TO 10,000 FT. INBOUND TO FLIGHT PLAN DESTINATION AIRPORT, KPBI (PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL). DUE TO WEATHER APPROACHING KPBI, ACFT. WAS CLEARED TO INTERSECTION HURDE, BUT AS SOON AS THE ACFT. INITIATED ITS DESCENT OUT OF 18,000 FT., P.I.C. NOTICED A SMALL CRACK IN THE LT. UPPER CORNER OF THE LT. WINDSHIELD.

THE CRACK WAS DETERMINED TO BE LOCATED IN IN OUTER PANE AND THE CHECKLIST WAS INITIATED AND COMPLETED, ATC ADVISED, BUT NO EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND ACFT. PROCEEDED INTO KPBI. THE ARRIVAL WAS CONTINUED UNTIL ADVISED BY ATC THAT KPBI WAS CLOSED DUE TO WEATHER. AN ANTICIPATED HOLD TIME OF 45 MIN. WAS IN EFFECT FOR KPBI THEREFORE, THE P.I.C. DECIDED TO PROCEED TO KSUA (STUART) BECAUSE THE WEATHER WAS GOOD AND AIRPORT STILL OPEN.

ON APPROACH TO KSUA THE WEATHER BEGAN TO DETERIORATE, ACFT. HAD A MISSED APPROACH TO RWY 30, REQUESTED AN APPROACH TO KVRB (VERO BEACH) RWY 30 L AND LANDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
