## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DEPARTED RUNWAY 32 AT X49 BEHIND THE LOCAL SKYDIVE AIRCRAFT FOR TWO TOUCH AND GO?S AND A FULLSTOP LANDING. THE SKYDIVE AIRCRAFT CLIMBED TO 12000 FEET AND RELEASED JUMPERS AND SEVERAL JUMPERS HAD ALREADY LANDED. THE PILOT WAS ON SHORT FINAL TO THE FULL STOP LANDING WHEN A SKYDIVER APPEARED IN THE FINAL APPROACH PATH .THE AIRCRAFT?S RIGHT WING CAUGHT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SKYDIVERS PARACHUTE. THIS PIVOTED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT 180 DEGREES AND IMPACTED THE GROUND IN A NEAR VERTICAL ATTITUDE SHORT OF RUNWAY 32 IN THE OVER RUN AREA. THE SKYDIVER LANDED IN THE OVER RUN PORTION OF RUNWAY 32 APPROXIMATELY 52 FEET FROM WHERE THE AIRCRAFT LANDED. NO INJURY TO THE SKYDIVER AND PILOT HAD MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA14LA146](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA14LA146), Mar 8, 2014: Cessna 170B (N211R), Mulberry, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the pilot and the parachutist to see and avoid each other, which resulted in the airplane’s wing colliding with the parachute’s suspension lines.

## Other reports on N211R (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19970706045089A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19970706045089A), Jul 6, 1997: Cessna 170B (N211R), Jackson, WY, Substantial damage. Lost directional control landing. Nosed over trying to regain control with brakes. Blames wind gusts. High tail time.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
