## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS CLEARED FOR DEPARTURE FROM RUNWAY 28R AT FCM. WINDS JUST PRIOR TO DEPARTURE WERE REPORTED TO BE 220 @ 10 GUSTING TO 19 KTS. PILOT REPORTED THAT UPON ADVANCING THE THROTTLE THE YOKE WAS PUSHED FORWARD TO LIFT THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT. AS SOON AS THE TAIL LIFTED A GUST OF WIND CAUGHT THE AIRCRAFT, PUSHING THE TAIL TO THE RIGHT. PILOT REPORTED THAT ONCE HE NOTICED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS NO LONGER TRACKING STRAIGHT DOWN THE RUNWAY AND HE DID NOT FEEL HE HAD SUFFICIENT SPEED FOR TAKEOFF, HE PULLED BACK FULLY ON THE THROTTLE AND APPLIED BRAKE PRESSURE. UPON CONTACTING THE SNOW BANK JUST OFF THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER ONTO IT'S BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14CA154](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14CA154), Mar 9, 2014: Cessna 185 (N4764B), Eden Prairie, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control during takeoff with a gusty crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
