## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS INCIDENT IS AN UPGRADE FROM AN OCCURRENCE OCE1720140014 PTRS #201401749.

THE PIPER PA-42 SERIAL #42-8001065 HAD THE RIGHT PT6A-60A ENGINE REMOVED AND SENT TO AN ENGINE OVERHAUL FACILITY.

AFTER HAVING 3 HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE'S REPLACED, STARTER GENERATOR REPLACED, ALL 4 ENGINE MOUNTS REPLACED, A PROPELLER BALANCE CHECK, AND SEVERAL VIBRATION ANALYSIS COMPLETED. AN ENGINEER FROM THE COMPANY PRIME TURBINE HAD DETERMINED THE PT-6A-60A ENGINE HAS AN INTERNAL PENDING BEARING OR GEARBOX FAILURE AND MUST BE REMOVED AND TORN DOWN FOR FURTHER ANALYSIS OF WHAT BEARING OR GEARBOX IS CAUSING AN OUT OF LIMIT VIBRATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
