## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON SELECTION OF FLAPS DOWN WHILE ON APPROACH INTO MNE, A LOUD ?POP? WAS HEARD AND THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED TO THE RIGHT. THE PILOT CORRECTED WITH AILERONS AND SELECTED FLAPS UP, THE FLAPS RETRACTED; THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO RSN AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WITH RETRACTED FLAPS.

DURING THE INSPECTION TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ASYMMETRICAL FLAP CONDITION, MAINTENANCE FOUND THE RH FLAP EXTEND CABLE HAD BROKEN APPROXIMATELY 7.5" OUTBOARD OF THE TURNBUCKLE JUST UNDER THE HEATER DUCT. THE FLAP CONTROL SYSTEM COMPONENTS WERE CHECKED FOR SECONDARY DAMAGE AND NONE WAS FOUND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
