## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

CREW REPORTED THAT ON 11 MILE BASE FOR ILS-3 AT MSP, THE MISSION SPECIALIST IN THE BACK OF THE AIRCRAFT NOTED THAT THE DISPLAY ON THE MILTOPE EQUIPMENT HAD QUIT AND THE EQUIPMENT WAS EMITTING SMOKE. THE CREW DONNED OXYGEN MASKS, TURNED OFF POWER TO THE AFFECTED EQUIPMENT AND AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED BY THE FLIGHT CREW DUE TO SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AT MSP. FIRE DEPARTMENT MET AIRCRAFT UPON LANDING AND PERFORMED A HEAT SCAN WHICH FOUND NOTHING BURNING. AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO FBO.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
