## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT PERFORMED A SHORT FIELD TAKE-OFF FROM RUNWAY 01 CLIMBED TO 1500 FEET, AND STARTED CROSSWIND TURN. PILOT THEN PULLED THE THROTTLE TO IDLE TO PERFORM A SIMULATED ENGINE FAILURE. THE PILOT STARTED A RIGHT TURN BACK TO THE FIELD. TURN WENT QUICKLY WITH NOT MUCH ALTITUDE LOSS. PILOT HAD TO SLIP TO LOOSE ALTITUDE. THE PILOT DID NOT REALIZE THE GEAR WAS NOT DOWN UNTIL TOUCHING DOWN ON RUNWAY 19.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
